Shopping around for a better insurance premium may save you money, but at some point it may hurt you to jump from carrier to carrier.
When you shop, or before you change carriers, ask agents about longevity credits. Does the company offer it? How long do you have to carry a policy to qualify? How much of a discount will you earn?
Longevity is only one consideration when shopping for a new provider, but it might be enough to retain your loyalty with your current provider.
Or, if you find a better deal elsewhere, longevity with a prior provider will help earn you a better premium.
