DSL can be more secure than cable

When comparing the DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) Internet service and cable Internet service, the security of your data transmissions should enter into the debate. While DSL and cable offer very similar Internet services, it is commonly believed that, overall, DSL offers more of a secure environment than cable Internet does.
In general, DSL carries your data transmissions on a dedicated line from your PC to the central office, whereas cable carries your transmissions in much more of a shared environment.
With cable Internet, your data transmissions are carried along with other Internet transmissions from the area, which, some argue, could pose some security threats not seen by DSL users.
If data security is a top priority for you, consider this when choosing between DSL and cable Internet service.
