define: Secured Credit Card
A credit card that requires collateral for approval. With a secured credit card, a security deposit is needed to secure the credit card. The amount of the security deposit usually equals the credit limit for that particular credit card. Because of of the collateral involved, this type of credit card is typically easier to obtain than an unsecured credit card.
