What’s the smallest cell phone size?
History of cell phone size
When the first cell phone was invented in 1973 by Dr. Martin Cooper, it weighed two pounds and was 9-10 inches long. Throughout the last few decades cell phones have become smaller and cheaper, while adding more technology, bells and whistles.
Cell phone batteries were originally several inches long but are now minuscule in physical size. Today, cell phones exist that are just over 2 inches long and weigh a mere 2 ounces. And despite their minute size, they still have touch-tone screens and amazing sound quality.
Recently (2007), SMS Technology Australia developed a cell phone wristwatch named the M500. It has a 1 1/2 inch touch screen and retails for about $800.
